Shorewood Finance Director Resigns after Being Named CFO for WEDC

Walker, who has served as finance director since November 2009, helped the village garner several awards over her time with the village.

Stephanie Walker has resigned as village director of finances to accept a role as chief financial officer for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, according to the village manager's memo.Β 

"Stephanie's skills, expertise and positive personal attributes have been a major driving force in the ongoing, award winning fiscal success of the Village of Shorewood," Village Manager Chris Swartz said in a statement. "While her departure is a major loss for our Village, we are proud that she will continue to work on all of our behalf with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation."

Walker, who has served as finance director since November 2009, helped the village abtain awards including the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

She also oversaw the implementation of long-range financial planning, Lean process for accounting operation, new accounting software and provided expertise in analysis of shared services, alternative service delivery and economic development financing, according to the village.Β
