Tanya Atkinson, Neighbor

Tanya Atkinson, MSSW, is Vice President of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin and Executive Director for Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin. 

Tanya oversees public policy development, advancement, communications, government relations and external communication as it pertains to public policy initiatives; and is responsible for the development, implementation and management of statewide educational programs at Planned Parenthood. Prior to joining Planned Parenthood, Tanya was the Director of the Milwaukee Office of the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families, a statewide child advocacy organization; Legislative Aide and Policy Analyst in the Wisconsin Legislature; and Social Worker specializing in youth services and delinquency. She received her MSSW at the University of Wisconsin Madison and B.S. at Carroll University. 

Tanya was born and raised in rural Wisconsin on a dairy farm and considers herself fortunate to have had the opportunity to live and work in urban and rural settings.
