Shorewood Snapshot: School Budget Talks; Swing with Shorewood

A look at this week's local events and news.

Here's a look at what's coming up this week in Shorewood. If we're missing something, please add it to the calendar. School Board — School officials will discuss and review the proposed 2013-2014 budget, among other agenda items, at a regular meeting Tuesday night at 7, in the Shorewood High School library, 1701 E. Capitol Dr. A full agenda can be found here.  Men's morning — The Shorewood Public Library will demonstrate the various new technologies now available through the library, during a presentation Wednesday morning at 10 in the Village Center, 3920 N. Support Local Schools at Swing with Shorewood, RSVP by Friday

The tenth annual event, organized by SEED, features local music, dinner by Bartolotta's, and is all aimed at supporting Shorewood schools.

RSVP by Friday to jam with local blues-soul-funk-hip-hop quartet Tweed Funk while supporting Shorewood schools March 16, at Swing with Shorewood.  The tenth annual event, organized by SEED (Supporters of Excellence in Educational Development), will be held at Pier Wisconsin, 500 N. Harbor Dr. The SEED Foundation has raised more than $1 million since its inception in 2003 — $675,000 from the Swing with Shorewood event over the years. The funds go to the district to help teachers and schools implement new academic curriculum and safety programs, purchase new computers and other classroom equipment, among other things.  The event includes dinner catered by Bartolotta's, live entertainment and a raffle with a trip to New York City on the line…
