When it's warm out, there's nothing better than strolling around with a frothy beverage. Starbucks is launching its annual Happy Hour on Friday, where Frappuccinos are half-price between 3-5 p.m. through May 13. That means you can get one of the blended beverages for as little as $2. The coffee shop is also introducing the new beverage Chocolate Cookie Crumble; a blended concoction of mocha sauce, vanilla syrup, chocolate chips, milk and ice, topped with chocolate whipped cream, and chocolate cookie crumbles. Starbucks is making the holiday season a little brighter for coffee lovers with a special BOGO deal from Thursday through Sunday. From 2 to 5 p.m. on those days, Starbucks patrons will get a second free holiday beverage when they buy the first one. The BOGO deal is good on several holiday drinks, including the peppermint mocha in regular and “skinny” versions, caramel brulée latte, ginger bread latter and the company’s standing holiday tradition, the eggnog latte. Fox Point police investigating $5 bills being reprinted as $100.
If you are handed a $100 bill, make sure it is not really a $5 bill. The Fox Point Police Department is investigating a single individual trying to pass off counterfeit bills in Fox Point. On Saturday, at 9 a.m., an Fox Point police officer responded to a call at Starbucks in Audubon Court for a fraud incident. While processing the receipts from the previous evening, employee Kimberly Bauer told officers that she discovered the bill and believed it to be counterfeit. When police arrived, she showed the bill to the officer and after he examined it, he concluded as well that it was counterfeit.
