The Bowl Championship Series Games begin Jan. 1.
'Tis the season of bowl games. The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) five-game showcase of college football begins Tuesday, with Stanford vs. Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl at 4 p.m. Central Time. The BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 7 features Notre Dame vs. Alabama. The following is the schedule for BCS and non-BCS bowl games. As the Wisconsin Badgers take the field on Tuesday, there are plenty of Milwaukee County residents to root for in the game vs. Stanford.
For Milwaukee County residents, the Rose Bowl is more than just a long-standing tradition of New Year’s Day football. With several local residents playing for the Wisconsin Badgers, there’s plenty to cheer for this year. Joel Stave, a redshirt freshman from Whitnall High School in Greenfield, started six games at quarterback this season before suffering a broken collarbone. He completed 70 of 118 passes for 1,104 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions. Stave has been cleared to play in the Rose Bowl but Curt Phillips will start, according to SBNation.com. He was named Academic All-Big Ten. Rick Wagner, a redshirt senior from West Allis Hale, will be asked to protect whoever is playing quarterback. He started 11 games at left tackle…

Even though the University of Wisconsin Badgers football team just clinched its berth to the Rose Bowl on Saturday, fans are already scrambling to find ticket packages for the big game. The Better Business Bureau warns fans to be careful of ticket scams. Craigslist, the online classified ad site, and eBay, the online auction site, already have hundreds of listings for Rose Bowl tickets. The Wisconsin BBB wants to remind Badger fans that scams and counterfeit tickets are common, and they should use caution when buying tickets and packages – especially online.
