A mom faces more than 10 years prison after she was charged with child abuse. Police say the Port Washington woman struck her children, a 12-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl, on the forearms with a belt. A Greenfield man previously accused of impersonating a photographer to gain access to high school athletes late last year, faces new charges, after police said he repeatedly stabbed a wall. This woman was supposed to be taking care of the elderly, but she instead stole pills and money from the people in the Oak Creek nursing home where she worked. A judge gave her probation. Actually, Tom, the Supreme Court has done no such thing. In fact, it has upheld the common law privilege of reasonable discipline. Also, Wisconsin law likewise provides for a privilege of reasonable discipline of a child. It does not ban spankings, even with an instrument such as a belt or a spoon, so long as it is reasonable and does not result in great bodily harm.   more ›
