Police Nab Locals for 2nd Drunken Driving Offenses

After being pulled over for speeding, two local men were arrested by Shorewood police for their second operating while intoxicated incidents.

A 31-year-old Shorewood man pulled over for driving 22 MPH over the speed limit Friday morning was later arrested for his second drunken driving offense. Police pulled him over in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive just before 2 a.m. He failed field sobriety tests and registered a 0.19 blood alcohol content, according to police.  He was also cited for speeding and operating after revocation. On Saturday night, a 30-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for second offense drunken driving after being pulled over for driving 16 MPH over the posted speed limit. When police pulled him over in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive at 11:40 p.m., a sobriety test was conducted, which the man failed. The driver registered a 0.14 blood alcohol …

I think the cops should roust anybody they see who is opening up a car door. They should be able to catch the bad guys that way. Maybe they could also tace the serial numbers of the stolen sunglasses or coins that were stolen too!   more ›

Police Report: Smash-and-Grab Theft in Parking Lot

The latest Shorewood police reports also show a stolen wallet from Three Lion's Pub and an iPod that went missing at Shorewood High School.

A smash-and-grab theft was reported in the Bakers Square parking lot Wednesday night. According to a Shorewood police report, an unknown person damaged the window and window frame of the locked vehicle between 8 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. Wednesday. After breaking in, the thief stole a brown leather briefcase valued at $100. Nothing of value was in the briefcase at the time. The estimated damage to the vehicle is $500. Two Men Robbed of Their Wallets Early Sunday Morning

Three juveniles have been arrested in connection with the robbery, but no charges have been filed yet.

Two 18-year-old men from Whitefish Bay were robbed by five males early Sunday morning in the 5000 block of Marlborough Drive. One of the robbery victims called the police shortly after the incident at 12:42 a.m. Sunday. He told police the robbers, who were approximately 16 years old, forcibly stole two wallets and an iPhone then fled the scene in a beige Dodge Stratus. The vehicle, which was later determined to be stolen, was gone by the time police arrived. After the robbery in Whitefish Bay Sunday, the Milwaukee Police Department later apprehended three juveniles and linked the suspects to the robbery in Whitefish Bay. The two stolen wallets were apparently tossed from the vehicle and were recovered in Whitefish Bay. Police returned the …

Crime Time: Two Drug Incidents, DUI

The roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

During a standard traffic stop around 4:20 a.m. on Thursday, police arrested a 20-year-old male from Colgate, WI for possession of marijuana. When police stopped the vehicle in the 3900 block of North Oakland Avenue for not having a license plate, they also found an open alcohol container in the vehicle and cited a 20-year-old male from Hubertus, WI and 19-year-old female from Colgate, WI for not wearing their seatbelts. Later that day around 1:20 p.m. police stopped another vehicle in the 4000 block of North Lake Drive for no right signal. Police arrested a 24-year-old male from Glenco, IL and a 21-year-old female from Oregon, WI for possession of marijuana. Also from the police reports:
