Gov. Scott Walker Recall Effort Seeks 540,000 Signatures

The lead organizer of a group dedicated to forcing Wisconsin's governor into a recall election says he is confident they will reach their goal.

Michael Brown, head of United Wisconsin, the group set on recalling Gov. Scott Walker said Sunday that he's confident they will gather the more than 540,000 signatures needed to force the governor into an early election. Brown told the TV news show UpFront with Mike Gousha that United Wisconsin will create 17 offices around the state to collect signatures.  Recall efforts will officially begin on Nov. 15. Organizers have until Jan. 13 to collect the signatures.  Even if successful, efforts to unseat Walker will face a mountain of cash. The Green Bay Press-Gazette reported Monday on an exception in state campaign finance laws for recall elections. Donors can give the governor an unlimited amount of money from the time the recall election …
