President Barack Obama, on his way to re-election win's Wisconsin's 10 electoral votes after defeating former Gov. Mitt Romney Tuesday.
President Barack Obama has won Wisconsin, considered by political pundits as a major swing state that would go a long way in deciding the 2012 presidential election. Obama was declared the state’s projected winner over Gov. Mitt Romney. Obama and running mate Joe Biden overcame the popularity uptick Romney undoubtedly received when he announced Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan of Janesville as his vice presidential candidate this summer. With the victory, Obama picked up 10 important electoral votes toward the 270 required to win the presidency. At approximately 10:15 p.m., CNN declared Obama a winner in Ohio, essentially giving him the election. As of 1 a.m. Wednesday, with 91 percent of the vote counted in Wisconsin, Obama was leading …

Waukesha was the epicenter of the state and national political scene Saturday as Democratic and Republican candidates and their surrogates visited the city to encourage volunteers to make the final push for votes in the Nov. 6 election. Democratic Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, were at President Barack Obama’s campaign office in downtown Waukesha. Earlier in the day, on the other side of town, Paul Ryan’s wife, Janna Ryan, was joined by U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, Republican Party of Wisconsin Chairman Brad Courtney and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus. And there's more to come. Former Wisconsin Gov. Patch's political insiders from both parties have plenty to say about Vice President Joe Biden's performance in Thursday night's debate against U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan.
When Patch asked Wisconsin political insiders who won Thursday night's debate between Republican Paul Ryan and Democratic Vice President Joe Biden, the responses were pretty much what one would expect. More than 86 percent of the Republicans who responded to Patch's post-debate survey declared Ryan the winner, while all of the 36 Democrats who answered called it for Biden. So, while they didn't see eye-to-eye on the outcome of the debate, they did agree on thing: That Biden pretty much stole the show. When asked the open-ended question of what was the most memorable moment of the debate, more than two-thirds of the respondents of both parties had something to say about Biden. For Republicans, Biden came off as "rude," "boorish," "arrogant…
Armchair analysts at Patch's debate viewing party in Wauwatosa were split on outcome in both style and substance, but Biden may have tipped the ball in at the buzzer.
Unlike last week's presidential debate, there was no clear winner this time around. But the for dozens of people who attended Patch's public showing of the vice presidential debate at the Rosebud Cinema in Wauwatosa, Vice President Joe Biden might have beaten U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan by the thinnest of margins. If it had been a football game, you would have to say it came down to the last seconds — with the final play disputed. On style points, the consensus was that Biden was penalized heavily for smiling and laughing at Ryan, and drew personal fouls for interrupting him. Most people on both sides felt that way. But some also said Ryan’s smirking, and playing fast and loose with facts set him back a few yards, too. On substance, Biden may have…

Although Paul Ryan will face off against a man who was sparring over public policy since the congressman was learning to talk, experts say it's a toss-up on who will win this debate.
With little more than 24 hours before the vice presidential debate, political experts say it's a true toss-up who will win, even after what many called a "lackluster" performance by President Barack Obama last week. It's not exactly a "Rumble in the Jungle," but the vice presidential debate Thursday does have the potential to be good theater. Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan will face off against incumbent Vice President Joe Biden at 7 p.m. Thursday in Danville, KY. This is the second of four scheduled debates before the election and is the only debate between the vice-presidential hopefuls. Across the country there's speculation that Biden will have to clean up the mess left behind by Obama's uneven performance during the first …

As as the only vice presidential debate nears, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker weighs in on what we can expect to see on Thursday.
As the nation anticipates Thursday’s vice presidential debate, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says the best thing Paul Ryan can do is be Paul Ryan. Wisconsin’s native son Ryan will join the stage with Vice President Joe Biden Thursday in Danville, KY. It’s the second of four scheduled debates before the election, and is the only debate between the Republican congressman and Biden. "The only thing I would tell Paul Ryan is, 'to be yourself.' Those would be my simple words," Walker told Patch on Tuesday. "Paul Ryan is at his best when he is himself and in his element. He’s a man who can be aggressive but also respectful." Thursday's debate has taken on added importance after Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney emerged as the winner …
