Shorewood High School celebrated in style Friday with a homecoming parade and football match.
Shorewood High School celebrated its homecoming in style, parading up and down village streets and crusing to an easy victory in its football game Friday night. The Messmer/Shorewood co-op football team won its homecoming match 42-6 over Brookfield Academy.

Shorewood High School will celebrate homecoming with a slate of events starting on Friday.
Shorewood High School’s homecoming weekend is looming, with a full slate of activities planned. A pep rally is set for 3:30 p.m. on Friday at the high school athletic field, 1701 E. Capitol Dr., and open to the public. Then, the annual homecoming parade is set for 5 p.m. and starts in the high school parking lot. Students and alumni will march down East Shorewood Boulevard to North Maryland Avenue, down to East Lake Bluff Boulevard and back to North Morris Boulevard where they will eventually end at the rear drive to the football field. A chilli cookout will follow on the front lawn of Shorewood Intermediate School, 3830 N. Morris Blvd., at 6 p.m., with proceeds benefiting the MACC Fund. As the year comes to a close, we all tend to look back at what exactly we've accomplished over the past 365 days. September marked a return to normalcy after a long, hot summer of politics and recalls. Children went back to school during the month as village officials dealt with a number of pressing issues such as a $76.9 million assessment error, a feud with a store owner and taking the public's temperature regarding a plan to deal with faulty sewers. Marching up and down village streets Friday, Shorewood celebrated with its annual homecoming parade.
It's a Shorewood tradition. Students and alumni marched throughout Shorewood Friday in its annual homecoming parade. Down East Shorewood Boulevard to North Maryland Avenue, to East Lake Bluff Boulevard and back up North Morris Boulevard they went, eventually ending at the rear drive to the football field where they cheered on their Greyhounds in the homecoming football game.

The Shorewood/Messmer football team will host Southeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschool Athletics Saints in its homecoming game.
