Shorewood will join the frozen yogurt craze in the Milwaukee area when the final retail piece of the new Ravenna development opens.
The final retail piece of the Ravenna development, Yo Mama frozen yogurt, is slated to open Feb. 28 on North Oakland Avenue. Co-owner Becky Berger told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the Shorewood frozen yogurt shop at 4525 N. Oakland Ave. will offer six self-serve frozen yogurts. With Alterra across the street, Yo Mama won't serve bakery but will stock packaged treats for sale. Additionally, the shop will have an outdoor drinking fountain for dogs, which will fill when a button is pushed and drain shortly after to ensure a fresh drink for the next dog. It will join Indulgence Chocolatiers, Elements East and Performance Running Outfitters in the Ravenna and mark the chain's third shop in the Milwaukee area.

Shorewood will be joining the frozen yogurt craze come March when Yo Mama! yogurt opens in the new Ravenna development.
Milwaukee and its suburbs have a long history of rich custard desserts. From Kopps to Culvers, the city enjoys its custard. But, there's new treat in town as of late — frozen yogurt. Whitefish Bay has two frozen yogurt restaurants, Cherry Berry and Sweet Frog. Other frozen yogurt chains in the Milwaukee area include Froyo Bella at Bayshore, Red Mango in Fox Point, Berry Me on Brady Street, Orange Leaf in Wauwatosa and Waukesha, MyYoMy in Walker's Point and Yo Factory on Farwell. CherryBerry is the second national frozen yogurt chain to open its doors on Silver Spring Drive in the last several months.
After months of anticipation, CherryBerry Self-Serve Yogurt has opened its doors at 106 E. Silver Spring Dr. CherryBerry is a national self-serve frozen yogurt chain offering over 50 rotating varieties of frozen yogurt flavors with over 50 toppings to add on. Customers walk in the door, grab a cup to fill with frozen yogurt, then add their own toppings from the topping bar. After filling their cups, customers weigh their yogurt on a scale and pay for it by the ounce. CherryBerry opened its first store in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 2010 and has rapidly expanded to over 100 locations nationwide.
