3 Cars Hit in Break-ins Late Last Week

Nearly $1,400 in property taken in illegal entry to cars on Thursday and Friday.

Three cars were hit in illegal entry to autos late last week.  An unlocked car was reported illegally entered on Thursday while parked in a driveway in the 4100 block of North Murray Avenue. About $1,360 worth of property was taken, including a backpack, laptop, Apple iPhone, voice recorder and computer keyboard. A car parked in the 1800 block of East Kenmore Place was illegally entered on Friday. The owner told police they were unsure if the car was locked, though there were no signs of forced entry. A list of items stolen from the car wasn’t immediately available from police. Sometime overnight on Thursday an unlocked car was illegally entered and a $20 walkie-talkie taken. 3 Car Break-ins Reported Last Week

Among the illegal entries to cars was an incident on North Summit Avenue where $1,400 in clothing and a $900 computer were stolen.

Three illegal entries to cars were reported to police last week.  Among the break-ins was an entry to an unlocked car parked in the 2500 block of North Menlo Boulevard on Thursday. The car was parked in an unlocked garage at the time of the entry, but nothing was reported stolen. Clothing valued at $1,400 and a $900 computer were reported stolen from another car, which was parked in the 3500 block of North Summit Avenue. The illegal entry and theft occurred sometime between 4 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 4 p.m. on Wednesday.   And, an unlocked car parked in the 4100 North Prospect Avenue was entered overnight on Dec. 3; a garage door opener was taken.

3 Cars Illegally Entered Overnight on Saturday

With three fresh car break-ins over the weekend, a dozen entry to autos have been reported in Shorewood over the past few weeks.

Three cars were illegally entered overnight on Saturday. According to the police report, an unlocked car parked in the 3900 block of North Richland Court was entered and six DVDs worth $60 and $50 in cash taken. Nothing was taken when an unlocked car was rummaged through while parked in the 3900 block of North Ridgefield Court. Another car parked in the 3900 block of North Lake Drive was illegally entered. Police didn’t have information on whether it was locked or items were taken from the vehicle as of Tuesday morning. A dozen entry to autos have been reported in Shorewood over the last few weeks. Whitefish Bay has been hit especially hard with more than 30 break-ins in the past several weeks. Bay police did catch one man in the act …

Lock Your Cars: Wave of Car Break-ins Continues

Three vehicles were illegally entered over the past weekend, adding to the several reported incidents in Shorewood and neighboring Whitefish Bay.

A rash of car break-ins across the village continued last weekend with three entry to autos. There were five car break-ins reported last week, and five car thefts over the past month in Shorewood. Whitefish Bay reported 10 break-ins just last week, and another dozen over the previous weeks. A car was ransacked, but nothing was stolen sometime overnight on Saturday while parked in a driveway on the 1600 block of East Lake Bluff Boulevard.  It is not known whether the car was locked at the time of the theft, but there were no signs of forced entry, police say.
