I think the cops should roust anybody they see who is opening up a car door. They should be able to catch the bad guys that way. Maybe they could also tace the serial numbers of the stolen sunglasses or coins that were stolen too!   more ›

5 Cars, All Unlocked, Hit in Entry to Autos

Police say other reports of car break-ins were received over the weekend and early on Monday through the complainants didn't want them documented.

At least five cars were targeted in entry to autos over the weekend and early on Monday. Police say they received reports of other car break-ins, but the owners didn't want them documented. A resident reported Sunday two cars parked in her driveway in the 3800 block of North Murray Avenue, unlocked at time, were illegally entered sometime overnight and a bag of coins valued at $10 taken. Two unlocked cars parked in a driveway in the 1900 block of East Kenmore Place were ransacked Monday morning. An iPod Nano and $6 in loose change was taken. Another unlocked car, this one in the 1800 block of East Kenmore Place, was entered and rummaged through, though nothing was taken on Monday.
