Plans Slowly Move Forward for Consolidated Dispatch Center
Bayside is first North Shore community to support plans for joint police and fire communications.
Plans to create a consolidated dispatch operation for police and fire calls in seven North Shore communities took a step forward Thursday night - but the proposal is anything but a done deal. The Bayside Village Board voted unanimously to support a dispatch system that would serve Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, River Hills, Shorewood, Whitefish Bay and Glendale. The same seven communities are members of the North Shore Fire Department. Bayside is the first community to formally back the proposal; Brown Deer is expected to take up the issue on Monday.
