Fox 6 Report: Local Con Man Bilked Investors Out of Life Savings

Prosecutor describes David Foley, a former co-owner of Sport 'n Cuts, as a "quintessential confidence man" with an "insatiable desire for easy money."

A former Whitefish Bay barber that is in prison for check-kiting duped his Whitefish Bay business partner and dozens of other business partners over the years out of their entire life savings, according to a Fox 6 investigation. Fox 6's in-depth investigation into David Foley's criminal background aired Thursday night. The video features one-on-one interviews with some of Foley's business partners turned victims, including Rick Bystra of Sport 'n Cuts. Bystra is now trying to rebuild the business under a new name, Cutters. Foley, 49, of Shorewood, was charged in November with six federal child pornography charges. Former Barbershop Owner Charged in Child Pornography Case

After being found guilty in check-kiting scheme, former Sport 'N Cuts owner David Foley now faces charges for producing child pornography.

In an attempt to discredit his landlord who testified against him in a check-kiting case, the former owner of Sport ‘N Cuts barbershop on Silver Spring Drive inadvertently led federal investigators to a series of child pornography tapes he produced, prosecutors allege. David Foley, 49, of Shorewood, was charged Wednesday with six federal charges: three counts of production of child pornography; and one count each of transportation of a minor across state lines to engage in a sex act, distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
