Driver hospitalized with unknown injuries after bizarre crash at Shorewood High School.
Updated 12:22 p.m. on Jan. 23 with new details from Shorewood police Police say, the elderly man who was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon after hitting several cars in the Shorewood High School parking lot, sparking his car on fire, suffered from an undetermined medical condition. Around 2:30 p.m., the man hit five legally parked, unoccupied cars in the lot, before jumping the curb and coming to a rest in the northeast corner. Emergency personnel arrived to find the man still in the car, and the car on fire. Shorewood Police Chief David Banaszynski said in a heroic effort, two officers broke a window and pulled the man from the car. Shorewood police arrested a 48-year-old Milwaukee man Monday night for drunken driving with a blood alcohol content more than four times the legal limit. Police received a report of a car driving recklessly near the intersection of East Capitol Drive and North Richland Court at 7:16 p.m. Police located the man in the area, and smelled alcohol on his breath during the traffic stop. A Breathalyzer test revealed the man had a .33 blood alcohol content. It is the man’s first OWI offense. In other police news:

The North Shore Fire Department responded to 100 calls for service, including 77 EMS calls and 23 fire and rescue calls , during the week of Nov. 28 through Dec. 4. Here are a few of the calls from Shorewood, Whitefish Bay, Fox Point and Bayside: Shorewood An oven fire on the 2000 block of East Kenmore Place started when the homeowner made a pizza at 9:39 p.m. Nov. 29. She said she cooked a turkey for Thanksgiving which caused a mess in the oven, and the grease started on fire when she made her pizza a couple days later. She told responders that she thought she put the fire out with flour. In a mid-December car accident, police arrive to find a passed-out woman allegedly in possession of two heroin syringes.
A Franklin woman pleaded not guilty last week to a charge of possession of heroin after she confessed to using heroin back in mid-December, prior to a car accident near the intersection of East Capitol Drive and North Wilson Drive in Shorewood. Krystal Hall, 19, waived her right to a preliminary hearing May 16 before pleading not guilty. In the Dec. 14 incident, she is alleged to have used heroin and then started driving westbound on East Capitol Drive, out of control on the wrong side of the road, and jumping over the curb through a construction zone, according to the criminal complaint. S Yanoff- You should look into being a beat reporter for a local news station. I can only imagine how you could enhance the daily drive by shootings/murders that occur in the city.
