City Market Settles Into New Home on Silver Spring
After two years of getting financing and making renovations, owner of upscale bistro happy to see the largest of his four locations grow roots in the village he calls home.
After an uphill journey of getting financing and making renovations to the building, The City Market opened its doors three weeks ago and is now seeing customers flock to the street's new upscale bistro at 527 E. Silver Spring Drive. It has been roughly two years since cafe co-owners Jeff Swanson and Julie Hollingsworth put a bid on the building, and in that time, they went through nine loan rejections and have reshaped the building and made extensive upgrades to a building that was once considered beyond repair, Swanson said. I'm thinking the new space is 4,600 sq ft vs 46,000 as compared to the Shorewood location coming in at 3,700 vs the 37,000 as stated in the article.   more ›
