Summer Bicycle Thefts Continue

A couple bicycles were stolen from unlocked garages early this week.

Two bicycles were stolen early this week in Shorewood. A closed but unlocked garage in the 2400 block of East Stratford Court was illegally entered Monday and an unlocked 2009 black Haro mountain bicycle stolen. Tuesday, a $400 Raleigh bicycle was stolen from an open garage in the 4200 block of North Woodburn Street.

Police Report: Car Window Smashed Out with Concrete Brick; Retail Theft; Bicycle Theft

A roundup of the latest from the Shorewood police reports.

Nothing was reported stolen from a 2003 Volkswagen Golf Friday after the rear hatch window was smashed out using a piece of concrete. The car was parked in the 4200 block of the Estabrook Parkway around 6 p.m., when the concrete brick was thrown through the window, causing $600 in damage to the car. Also in the police report: The above items are from reports from the Shorewood Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Teen Makes His Way All Over North Shore Before Caught with Stolen Bike

Officers from five department look for thief before he's apprehended in Whitefish Bay.

A 17-year-old Milwaukee teen thought he could trade up his stolen bike for another. Little did he know that five North Shore police departments would work together, chasing him through two villages before getting both bikes back to their respective owners. While officers were in route to a home in the 6400 block of North Berkeley Blvd. for a burglary call, around 12:35 a.m. July 19, they noticed a teenager riding a bicycle east on School Road and then turning north onto the 6400 block of North Santa Monica Blvd. According to the report: When officers arrived on scene, they found the garage door open and two vehicles parked inside.
