Just went to Joey B's in Mequon. On a scale of 5 - Atmosphere 2, Service 4, Prime Rib 1 no flavor & cold (this was the Saturday special), the water tasted as if they pumped it directly from the river out back.. We did find a parking spot close to the front door.   more ›

Megan Woodard Johnson's artwork aims to tell evocative stories speaking to universal experiences as well as personal memories.  Her art collection, "Telling Stories," goes on display at the Anaba Tea Room, 2107 E. Capitol Dr., Thursday. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be happy hour specials and live music. The reception is free and open to the public. The work will remain on display through June 30.  Johnson creates deliciously rich, mixed media paintings using bits of vintage paper ephemera, acrylic paint, various drawing materials and anything that might be in her arm's reach while she's working, the tea room says. Art Show 'On the Horizon' Opens Feb. 28 in Anaba Tea Room

Artist Beki Borman's paintings focus on an experience of color through the filter of landscape. An opening reception starts at 5 p.m.

Anabe Tea Room's latest art show, On the Horizon, opens 5 p.m. on Feb. 28. Artist Beki Borman's paintings focus on an experience of color through the filter of landscape. "I exaggerate the simple shapes and color relationships I find of interest to create a slightly hyper-realized image," Borman said in a press release. "I use a palette knife as my primary tool to build planes of thick creamy paint. The texture supports an experience of object as well as image." An opening reception is set from 5  to 7 p.m., at the tea room located at 2107 E. Capitol Dr., in the basement of the Garden Room, and will remain on display through April 28. Art Show 'Similitudes' Opens Jan. 10 in Anaba Tea Room

Artist James Steeno's floral and wildlife watercolors, paper collage and pen and ink drawings are designed to engage, display and call to mind the curious fancy of accessible objects and themes close by.

Anaba Tea Room will present its newest art exhibit, Similitudes, with an opening reception at 5 p.m. on Jan. 10  Artist James Steeno has created floral and wildlife watercolors, paper collage and pen and ink drawings which reflect a concrete understanding of his subjects, but are executed in his signature style; blending an illustrative line with more expressive paint application and whimsical backgrounds. Garden Room, Anaba Celebrates 10 Years

The local business will celebrate with an exhibit featuring a lineup of 62 artists and over 100 pieces of art.

The Garden Room and Anaba Tea Room are celebrating a decade in Shorewood by unveiling an exhibit with a lineup of 62 artists and over 100 works of art. An opening reception is slated for Nov. 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. with live music from local musicans Dick Elliot, Don Linke and John Stano. The business is located at 2107 E. Capitol Dr. All of the artists have had artwork displayed in the tea room's gallery space sometime over the past 10 years. In the invitational retrospective, artists have been asked to create one to three small works all priced at $200 or less, and will be available for cash and carry purchase.

Shorewood's Anaba Tea Room will host this year's League of Milwaukee Artists League Fall Members Show: "Painting...Music to My Soul." A reception will be held Sept. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the tea room, 2107 E. Capitol Dr. Bayview guitarist John Stano will provide live music. Inspired by a song title or a piece of music, the subject matter and media of these two-dimensional works is widely varied, as is the artist's interpretation of their chosen tune. The show will be judged by well-known Wisconsin artist Frank Hoeffler, and awards will be given to some of the best works from this established group of artists.
