The school employs only those with degrees and are certified early childhood education teachers.

New Horizons students receive a very hands-on educational experience designed to focus their energies productively. This smaller size keeps Shorewood Intermediate intimate and family-like during these important developmental years of adolescence. In keeping with the concept, the building is somewhat unique in being round, with an open central commons.
