Every time that I walk across the bridge, I say to myself that I could clean up all of the paper andRead More other garbage on the ground between Captial on the river. It would take 1 day and make the ravine look 100% better. I have tried to contact local governments with no success. (North side of the bridge, west side of the river.)

Here's the money! Retiring Shorewood teachers receive $20,000.00 a year for five years that goes toRead More pay for their retirement health insurance cost. That's $100,000.00 over that five year period for each teacher. Six more teachers are planning to retire next year. Let's do the math: 6 X $20,000 = 120,000.00 a year or $720,000.00 over the following five year period for these six retiree's. Add-in those already on this give-a-way. The rest of us, outside of teaching, would be going on a COBRA health plan for 18 months. On a COBRA health insurance plan we'd pay 100% of the plan costs plus 2% for the administration fee's. Retiring teachers complain that going on a COBRA is way to expensive. Well, "you reap what you sow"! Welcome to the real world I guess! The money's available if we just curtail this free five year "Golden parachute" just we give away. Lastly, an FYI: Teacher's are guaranteed coverage coverage regarldless of health conditions on COBRA.
