Movers and Shakers - Come meet your Neighbors

It has been a busy week for the Welcome New Neighbors Program! There is now a large basket for the WNN Ride (a green tandem - catch a ride if you need one!) that will barely be able to contain all the wonderful items for New Neighbors.
Come get involved - an open call to say Hello, come to a Party, or host a future Reception!

Saturday Morning Hello
This Saturday, June 22, I will be meeting new friends at 9, 10 and 11am at Alterra in Shorewood. Please feel free to stop and say, "Hello." I'll have forms galore for permitting new puppies and bikes, plus extra Rec. Dept booklets for all.

A Party!
Because of the wonderful response to the Welcome New Neighbors Program, we will now offer monthly receptions for new and old alike to come and share information and friendship. Thanks to Steph Davies at the Waxwing for the great idea, Waxwing will be the host for the first reception for newcomers and residents to share their wealth of knowledge.

Join us for this free and helpful get-together at Waxwing, 4415 N. Oakland in Shorewood on Thursday, June 27, from 6-8pm. Refreshments will be provided.  All are welcome, and I will be there with my forms, brochures, generous offers from local businesses, and answers for you. Bring your questions and I will follow up with resources.  Please join me in welcoming new neighbors! RSVP not required but helpful to welcome@villageofshorewood.org or Voicemail to 414-847-2721, or via Facebook here.

Save the Date:
August 1, 6-7:30pm will be the August New Neighbors Reception at SHOP in Shorewood.
September will be at Shorewood Chiropractic, TBD.

Want to host a reception for new neighbors? Wonderful - contact me at welcome@villageofshorewood.org or call 414-847-2721.

Thanks to Village Hall!
This program wouldn't be fast and helpful without the great response from the Village Customer Service - Teri and Ann. Follow up from last week's New Neighbor visits: Happy Erbas will get their rain barrel without having to take a day off work, thanks to the online receipt of a downspout permit sent directly from the Village. Thank you for such excellent customer service, Teri Repins and Ann Krechel!

Business Goodies and a Suggestion
There are more opportunities for businesses be represented in the basket for new neighbors, allowing me to represent your business in my one-on-ones and receptions. Wondering what sort of offer to give? Don't buy pens - think about this idea that would go a long way: I'm looking for business sponsors of a Shorewood "Change of Address" postcard to give out to movers to mail to family and friends. A sweet, retro-looking (I can provide black and white photographs of buildings in Shorewood)  "Greetings from Shorewood" postcard for new neighbors to send to other friends. With your logo - you get twice the visibility.

Have a great weekend and don't forget to stop and say Hello on Saturday!
