Volunteer: Help Your Neighbor, or Clean the Milwaukee River, on April 21

Give back in Shorewood and beyond this spring.

It’s that time of year again; time for spring-cleaning. But, this year you can give back to the community in the process.

Shorewood Connects and the Milwaukee Riverkeeper are offering volunteer opportunities on April 21.

Shorewood Connects is linking volunteers with older adults and the disabled to ease the burden of yard chores like taming those out-of-control hedges, full garden beds and tangled water hoses.

This year’s Spring Yard Clean-Up Day is from 9 a.m. to noon and organizers are still looking for volunteers.

The Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring River Cleanup effort is seeking volunteers to help pull trash from the Milwaukee River at one of the almost 50 sites, including several in the Shorewood area like .
