PHOTOS: A Sweltering Independence Day Celebration in Shorewood

Triple-digit temperatures didn't deter parade-goers from coming out and celebrating the Fourth of July in Shorewood. Check out our photos from the parade, then add your own to the gallery.

North Oakland Avenue was packed Wednesday for Shorewood's annual Fourth of July parade.

A large crowd gathered for an afternoon parade — complete with marching bands and a man traveling on a giant wheel — which started at East Kensington Drive and stretched south down North Oakland Avenue to Shorewood's River Park.

After the parade, the festivities shifted to Atwater Park for live music, food, drinks a dunk tank and rides.
