PHOTOS: A Celebration of Summer in Shorewood

Families enjoyed games, trolley rides, ice cream, face painting, balloons, live music and even an appearance from the Milwaukee Brewers Racing Sausages.

Families enjoyed games, trolley rides, a Culver's ice cream sundae, face painting, balloons, live music and even an appearance from the Milwaukee Brewers Racing Sausages at the Shorewood Library's annual Summer Celebration Wednesday.

The event is held each year as a thanks to the village for their support.

The highlight of the event was the sausage race.  After a drawing, five kids took on the sausages, racing them down North Murray Avenue.

Hi Adam - Thanks for the great photos! While we appreciate the support of Culvers, Nehring's Senkids, and the Shorewood Woman's Club, the entire event is funded by the Friends of Shorewood Public Library. Everyone should join the Friends so we can continue to host such great community events! Beth Carey Director of Library Services Shorewood Public Library
