UPDATED: No. 1 Crusaders Edge Greyhounds Out Of Playoffs

After topping Brown Deer, Shorewood can't overcome Catholic Memorial.

Shorewood was ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 2 in late September, but Catholic Memorial was there by the time the teams met Thursday in the WIAA Division 2 boys soccer regionals.

The Crusaders prevailed 2-1, ending Shorewood's season at 8-8-3. Elliott Lane scored the goal for Shorewood.

The Greyhounds had earned the matchup with Catholic Memorial after defeating Brown Deer Tuesday night 2-0.

Shorewood's Simon Miller and Henry Kruger put in the Greyhound's two goals against the Falcons in the first half and held off Brown Deer to advance.
