Shorewood Editor Takes the 'Run Rich Run' Challenge

The NFL Network's Rich Eisen asked viewers to run the 40-yard dash in their work clothes and I took the bait. Watch my effort, and Eisen's, and parts of many others'.

I took a break from covering the news Friday and took NFL Network commentator Rich Eisen up on his challenge to run the 40-yard dash in my work clothes.

On the track at Shorewood High School β€” after clearing off snow β€” I ran the sprint in 5.7 seconds, beating Eisen's time of 6.03.

Eisen runs the dash in his work clothes as part of the cable network's coverage of the NFL Combine, a week-long showcase occurring every February, where college football players perform physical and mental tests in front of National Football League coaches, general managers and scouts.

This year, he encouraged fans to film themselves doing it, and like many others, I took the bait and got my 3 seconds of fame with part of my introduction making it on the air.

You can watch the collage of myself and others running the 40 ο»Ώhere, which appeared on the NFL Network. On Twitter, search the hashtag #runrichrun for more.
