Shorewood Boys Visit Messmer in WIAA Regional
Boys basketball tournament begins March 1 with Shorewood, Nicolet in action.
Shorewood High School makes the short trip to Messmer on March 1 to open the WIAA Division 2 boys basketball tournament.
The Greyhounds (5-15) are the No. 5 seed in the six-team bracket and have dropped eight of their last nine games. Point guard Deion Jackson-Body leads the team with a 17.2 scoring average, according to WisSports.net. Messmer is 12-7 and plays in the Midwest Classic Conference.
Whitefish Bay, which drew the No. 1 seed despite some stumbles down the stretch, hosts the winner of the Shorewood-Messmer game on March 4. The Blue Dukes (13-8) are led by the duo of Ron Patten and Jamie Schneck, both averaging about 15 points per game.Β They beat Shorewood 67-44 on Feb. 12.

Also in this bracket is Nicolet, which drew the No. 3 seed and faces Milwaukee North, the No. 6 on March 1. The Knights (13-8) split two games with Whitefish Bay during the North Shore Conference season. Three players β Christian Griggs-Williams, Corey Smith and Raheem Lemons β average between 14 and 10 points per game.
Milwaukee North is 4-13 and is winless in nine games in the tough City Conference. The winner of that game faces second-seeded Brown Deer on March 4.

Other No. 1 regional seeds within the Section 4 grouping are Wauwatosa East, New Berlin West and Wisconsin Lutheran.
