MLB Suspends Ryan Braun for Rest of 2013 Season

Milwaukee Brewers' slugger Ryan Braun has been suspended for violating the Joint Drug Agreement with MLB. He will reportedly not contest the suspension.

Major League Baseball has suspended Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun without pay for the remainder of the 2013 season, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The Brewers' outfielder will reportedly not contest the suspension, which was levied for violations of the Joint Drug Agreement in the Basic Agreement, meaning he used performance-enhancing drugs, the newspaper reports.

The Journal said the suspension exposes Braun as a liar because he has stated many times in the past he never used PEDs. He issued a statement Monday, saying in part, “As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect. I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions.”
