Messwood Playoff Eligible, Can Secure Spot with Homecoming Game Win

With Friday night's 39-7 win over South Milwaukee, the Messmer/Shorewood combined football team is one step closer to a playoff berth.

Messwood is just one win away from clinching a playoff spot after knocking off South Milwaukee Friday night 39-7.

The Messmer/Shorewood co-op has enough wins to reach the postseason for the second straight year and can lock up a berth with a victory over either Brookfield Academy on Oct. 5 during the homecoming game, or Living Word Lutheran on Oct. 12.

With Friday's win, in which Messwood amassed nearly 600 yards, the team improved to 5-1 (3-1).
