Messwood Crushes HOPE Christian 56-6 to Remain Undefeated

Shorewood stuck to the ground game Thursday night, with four different players reaching the endzone seven times and racking up 305 yards.

Messwood built on its undefeated season Thursday, traveling to HOPE Christian and trouncing them 56-6 in a conference match.

With the win, the Shorewood/Messmer football team improved to 4-0 (3-0) this season, remaining atop the Midwest Classic Conference.

Shorewood stuck to the ground game, with four different players reaching the endzone seven times and racking up 305 yards. Messwood RB Alec Grimmer contributed to the rout when he returned a kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown.

Taylor threw for 69 yards, and Messwood TE Jonathon Carson lead all in receiving with 39 yards. HOPE’s Anthony Poe was the game’s rushing leader with 199 yards.

Messwood will host Lake Country Lutheran Sept. 21for its next matchup starting at 7 p.m.
