Musical Line-Up Announced for Free Summer Concert Series

With summer right around the corner, Shorewood is ready for an exciting musical series that is sure to please anyone's musical taste buds. From jazz to blues, Irish to country - and every musical style in-between - get ready to rock out with "Summer Sounds," Shorewood's free community concert series, presented by the Village Marketing Program.

"Summer Sounds" will be held on Wednesday nights from 6-9 p.m. from June 20 through August 29 (excluding July 4) at the handsome Hubbard Park along the Milwaukee River (3565 N. Morris Blvd., just a few blocks south of Capitol Dr.). Shorewood residents and guests will delight in this year's all-star musical lineup that will include a variety of music. Plus, concert attendees will enjoy their favorite summer foods and beverages for sale from Hubbard Park Lodge. You are encouraged to bring your own lawn chair or blanket to make your listening pleasure more enjoyable as you sit back and relax during these free musical performances. Bring your family, meet your friends and make a night of it every Wednesday night at Hubbard Park this summer.

Shorewood's free concert series has grown over the last few years from just a few concerts to this year's 10-event series - and has become a much-anticipated highlight of the summer season. PNC Bank and Hubbard Park Lodge are the presenting sponsors of "Summer Sounds." Additional sponsors include the Shorewood Foundation, the Shorewood Men's Club and Culver's of Shorewood.

July 18: Streetlife with Warren Wiegratz - jazz
July 25: Trio de Janeiro - bossa nova/swing
August 1: The Gleasons - Irish (with opening act by McMenamin Irish Dance Adacemy)
August 8: Southern Tradition - country
August 15; Tweed Funk - blues
August 22: The Flood Brothers - contemporary oldies
August 29: Brew City Big Band - timeless big band classics
