Who's In the Running for the Open Shorewood School Board Seat?

Long-time member and former president Paul Zovic is among nine candidates who have thrown their names into the running for an open seat on the Shorewood School Board.

Former Shorewood School Board President Paul Zovic is among nine candidates to apply for the panel's open seat.

Following the resignation of Michael Mishlove, the district began looking for a new board member.

The applicants include:

  • Jane Beyer
  • Mildred Coby
  • Gregg Davis
  • Susan Gleysten
  • Robert Lynch
  • Ruth McGuire
  • Paru Shah
  • Niki Karp Skinner
  • Paul Zovic

The board will conduct 20-minute interviews with each candidate in open session on Dec. 18 starting at 6 p.m., and pick one to become its fifth member Dec. 20.

The process will include a five-minute presentation from each candidate, followed by a five-minute follow-up question period from the board. Then the officials will spend 10 minutes asking two to three prepared interview questions.

The new member will serve on the School Board through April 2013, at which point they will have the opportunity to run for re-election.

How many of these applicants have ever actually run for the school board other than Zovic?

Take your pick. They will all vote in lock step. If you listen closely, you'll hear the sound of jackboots.

The new board member will be Paru Shah; as a reward for successfully indoctrinating so many UWM students.

It seems like only a year ago when Zovic stated that he wasn't going to run for re-election to the school board... http://shorewood.patch.com/articles/zovic-won-t-seek-re-election-to-shorewood-school-board

It is rather humorous that Zovic has applied, as he has been actively exerting his influence since he officially left the board.
