What's Up Next Week in Shorewood? School Board Meets, PARK(ing) Days, Preps Sports

School officials continue work on grievance policy

The Shorewood School Board will hold a regular meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Shorewood High School Library and update the district's progress on a for district educators.

PAR(king) Days

Shorewood will launch a , featuring original works from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee architecture and art students, Friday from noon to 7 p.m.

PARK(ing) Day, an annual, worldwide event, invites students to transform metered parking spots into public art exhibits. Shorewood will join 140 cities in 21 countries on six continents in celebration of art.

Sculptures will be located in parking spots all over Shorewood's business district including the intersection East Capitol Drive and North Oakland Avenue.

Ready to rock?

Popular rock groups and artists The Fray, Ben Folds, Fitz and the Tantrums, Michelle Branch and Evan Christian will visit Milwaukee's Veterans Park, 1010 N Lincoln Memorial Dr., for the concert.

The event is part of the , which connects and educates residents about to the two water sources that border Shorewood.

Preps sports

Messwood, the Shorewood/Messmer combined boy's football team, will head to Whitefish Bay Saturday for a matchup with conference foe Dominican. The game starts at 7 p.m.

In addition, Shorewood High School varsity , and volleyball teams will compete next week.
