Substitute Teachers Get First Pay Raise in 5 Years

District raises pay rates for substitutes to match other districts.

The Shorewood School Board Tuesday approved raising the rates for substitute teachers, to become more competitive with other school districts.

Shorewood has not increased the pay rate for substitute teachers since 2006.

Substitutes will now receive $100 per day — up from the $80 per day they have received for the past five years. Subs who stay in the district more than 19 days will receive $115 per day, while they used to receive $90.
