SHS Best Buddies to Hold Trip Fundraisers

Shorewood High School’s Best Buddies organization will be hosting two fundraisers in October to help raise costs for the group’s trip to Hawaii this spring.

Best Buddies is an organization that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships for people with intellectual and development disabilities.

The first fundraiser will be held on Thursday, October 10th at Culver’s in Shorewood. As part of the event, the restaurant will be donating 10 percent of the proceeds from the entire day to the SHS Best Buddies Trip.

Also beginning October 10th, individuals can recycle any cell phones, smart phones, inkjet cartridges (no toner), laptop computers, iPads, iPods and digital cameras that are no longer used by placing the items in collection bins at the District’s schools. (Items do not have to be functioning.)

The electronics will be collected until the beginning of December. Once the collection is over, items will be send to EcoPhones, who will then send the organization a check for the trip. Click here for more information about the recycling fundraiser.
