Teacher Karen Frink directs nearly 200 summer orchestra students in end-of-summer megaconcert.

A crowd spilled into the Shorewood High School Auditorium Thursday for the Elementary Summer Orchestra Concert.

The Summer Strings program is run through the Shorewood Recreation Department for four weeks each summer, under the direction of orchestra teacher Karen Frink. Nearly 200 students performed Thursday night.

Student orchestra volunteers from Shorewood Intermediate School and Shorewood High School attended the four-week course as teaching assistants for the new students, with all 36 of them also on hand to help navigate the stage and concert.
