Shorewood Senior Signs to Play Collegiate Soccer as Badger

The four-star prospect will join the University of Wisconsin women's soccer team this fall after signing a letter of intent.

Shorewood's Sara Waters will hit the soccer field as a Badger this fall after signing a letter of intent to play for the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

While Waters didn't play soccer as a Greyhound, she served as a key offensive threat for the club team, FC Milwaukee, according to the UWBadgers.com. The forward made a name for herself at Elite Clubs National Team events, is rated a four-star prospect by TopDrawerSoccer.com, in addition to earning All-Event Team honors at the 2012 Elite Clubs National League event this past summer.

Team head coach Paula Wilkins said Waters will make the Badgers' attacking group more dynamic.

"Her runs off the ball and her ability to attack one-on-one are also very impressive attributes," Wilkins said.

“Sarah Waters is a homegrown Wisconsin kid. She is really dynamic and is more of a forward-type player. She has connected really well with some of the players on the team over the years and has already built great chemistry with a lot of the returners. Obviously, you want to keep the best players in Wisconsin and she is definitely one of those young talents."
