Shorewood Schools Get Minor Fixes over Summer

High school and middle school locker room improvements top the list of maintenance work.

Maintenance staff will be busy over the summer making some minor improvements and fixes across the Shorewood School District.

The School Board has approved $140,000 in capital improvements for the district’s four schools.

The district allocates $80,000 in its budget every year for capital improvements and will use another $60,000 in funds from its 2008 referendum.

For the most part, all schools will have lights replaced here and there and will have other minor work done, including fixing ceilings and doorways.

However, major renovations at the will include more than $45,000 in renovations for new lockers and lighting in the varsity locker room. Additionally, the lighting in the arena and cafeteria upgrades is slated for summer work.

Lockers in both the girl's and boy’s locker rooms will be replaced at at a cost of just a little more than $35,000.

The high school’s Science Building will have a new patio installed and the administration building will undergo some minor improvements.
