School District Business Manager Resigns to Take Sheboygan Schools Job

Mark Boehlke, who has worked in the Shorewood School District since 2006, said he will leave at the end of the school year to serve as assistant superintendent of business and operational services in his hometown of Sheboygan.

Shorewood schools business manager Mark Boehlke will leave the district next month to take a position with the Sheboygan Area School District.

Boehlke, who has worked in the district since 2006, will leave Shorewood at the end of the school year to begin a new role as assistant superintendent of business and operational services in Sheboygan, according to a press release from the Shorewood School District.

Boehlke said he's sad to leave Shorewood, but excited about the prospect of working closer to home. He said he commutes daily from Sheboygan to Shorewood for work.

“I have truly enjoyed my time working for the district and I have had the privilege to work with so many great people over the years,” Boehlke said in a press release. “As hard as it is to leave, I am looking forward to new challenges and the opportunity to work in my hometown.”

School officials will immediately begin the process to find a new business manager, Superintendent Martin Lexmond said. A search firm may be used to identify qualified candidates, and members of the Finance and Facilities Committee, along with other community members and staff, will be invited to be part of the interviewing and hiring process, Lexmond said.
