Photos Gallery: Shorewood Cross Country Teams Qualify for State

Shorewood girls won the sectional while the boys were second, both participate in state on Saturday.

It was a great day for Shorewood at the WIAA Division 2 cross country sectionals held in Saukville Saturday. 

The girls took first place out of 12 teams; Haley Holan finished first overall with a time of 15:15. Other finishers for the Greyhounds were Abby Pech (second), Haley Florsheim (fourth), Angela Sperry (18th), Laura Gould (19th) Madee Ferone (41st) and Lindsey Morris (44th). They'll run in the state meet on Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids.

The boys finished as runner-up behind Wisconsin Lutheran, but also qualified for state. Peter Morris finished fourth overall to lead the Greyhounds. Other finishers were Charlie Stahl (sixth) Jacob Goldberg (eighth), Sam Kuhlmann (12th), Michael Dellutri (14th), Mayan Essak (20th) and John Papke (29th).
