UPDATED: District Publishing Video of Superintendent Meet and Greets Saturday Morning

In addition to the videos, school officials will allow public comment on the candidates at their regular School Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday night at 7 in the Shorewood High School Library.

Video of meetings held this week introducing the two finalists for Shorewood’s next school district superintendent to the community is to be viewable on the district’s website by Saturday morning, the district says.

Tuesday and Thursday the finalists Lake Bluff Principal Kirk Juffer and Superintendent of the Kohler Public School District in Kohler, Wis. Martin Lexmond met with community members and stakeholders.

In addition to the videos, school officials will allow public comment on the candidates at their regular School Board meeting scheduled for Tuesday night at 7 in the Library, 1701 E. Capitol Dr.

Juffer has been principal at Lake Bluff for 21 years and was previously the director of instruction at Holmen School District in Holmen, WI. Before that, he served the Richland Center School District for three years as a special education teacher. Juffer’s 2012 salary is $111,887 and his benefits are 35,473.

Lexmond has been the superintendent and principal at Kohler Public Schools for two years. Prior to that, he was the director of curriculum and instruction as well as the director of the Department of School Innovation at Milwaukee Public Schools. He also taught in Denver, CO and was an assistant principal and teacher at MPS. Lexmond’s 2012 salary is $151,800, according to his application. 

Lexmond comes from a small school district serving 600 students, according to the district’s website. In comparison, Shorewood serves 2,000 students.

Current superintendent Blane McCann has served as superintendent of the Shorewood School District since August 2003, with a current annual salary of $152,250. , and shortly after school officials for a new superintendent.
