Who's Running for School Board? So Far, Nobody

Two incumbents have yet to file for re-election; deadline is Jan. 4.

There will be two seats on the Shorewood School Board on the ballot this spring, but so far no candidates have emerged.

The terms of board members Ruth Treisman and Michael Mishlove are ending, and neither has filed yet for re-election. Nor has anyone else.

However, the superintendent's administrative assistant, Kim Grady, said both Treisman and Mishlove have picked up packets as well as two other people. The two others are unknown since they sent friends to pick up the packets.

The three-year terms come with an $1,000 annual salary.

The filing period opened on Dec. 1, and will close on Jan. 4. Forms and information packets are available at the district office, 1701 E. Capitol Dr.

If more than four Shorewood residents file for the two seats, a primary will be held Feb. 15. The general election is April 5 and elected members take office April 25.
