Village officials meet Monday — When the Village Board meets Monday night they could approve an amendment to in addition to a .

Village Manager Chris Swartz is asking the board to approve a 50-cent raise for the village’s assistant to the finance director. Cindy Wierzchowski’s hourly wage would increase from $21.15 to $21.65.

It’s unclear what the amendments are, with no details attached to the meeting’s agenda, to the developer’s agreement related to six-story apartment/retail structure, coined the LightHorse 4041, slated for the Sendik’s parking lot.

Give back — In the spirit of giving back during the holiday season? to support the Hunger Task Force. Residents are encouraged to join in by dropping off non-perishable food items at any village building listed below:

The Hunger Task Force distributes food to food pantries, homeless shelters and soup kitchens at no charge.  Because it is locally funded and locally run and receives no United Way funding, they rely heavily on corporate, community and individual support.

In addition, Shorewood salon, , which it donates to the Hunger Task Force.

Preps sports — The Shorewood boys basketball team will try to bounce back from two close back-to-back loses when they host a match Tuesday night against Greenfield and travel to Muskego for a game Thursday night. The Greyhounds are 2-4 (1-4) on the season.

The girls basketball squad travel to Greenfield for their only match this week. They are looking for their first win of the season.

All games start at 7:30 p.m. and home games are played at , 1701 E. Capitol Dr.

The Whitefish Bay-Shorewood-Nicolet combined hockey team is slated for matches with Brookfield on Wednesday and Arrowhead on Friday. Both games start at 7 p.m. The Storm play at the Kern Center in downtown Milwaukee, 1245 N. Broadway St.

Sit back and listen — Shorewood High School in a free concert. The concert is held in the high school auditorium, 1701 E. Capitol Dr. and starts at 7 p.m.
