Village, School Board Seats Up for Re-election in Spring Elections

It will soon be time to think elections again as the spring cycle approaches. 

Three School Board and two Village Board seats are up for re-election on the April 2 ballot. Candidates can circulate nomination papers, and the deadline to file is Jan. 2. If more than two challengers emerge for an open seat, a primary would be held Feb. 19.

School Board President Rob Reinhoffer and Vice President Colin Plese's seats are up for grabs up April.

Reinhoffer told Patch he plans to run to retain his seat on the board. 

A seat vacated by Michael Mishlove will also be on the ballot. That seat is set to be filled by a board-appointed member. The candidate who finishes third will essentially fill Mishlove's seat and continue to complete his term, which ends in April 2014. At that point, that board member’s seat will once again be up for re-election for a three-year term.

School Board members earn $1,000 annually and the board President earns $1,200. Those interested in running for School Board can find more information at the Shorewood School District, 1701 E. Capitol Dr.

Village Trustees Patrick Linnane and Ellen Eckman's seat are also up for re-election. 

Trustees serve three-year terms and make $1,000 annually.
