Shorewood Recoups $28,000 Spent During Probe into Fuel Leak in Sewer System

Village Manager Chris Swartz said expenses incurred for environmental contract work during a week-long investigation of a gasoline leak into Shorewood's sewer system has been recouped, though officials had already written it off.

Swartz said the village had originally written off the expense, and was surprised to receive the money.

"Village Attorney Ray Pollen had written some letters to the insurance company, and made sure we kept on it," Swartz said.
