William Feerick, co-owner of a prominent Shorewood funeral home, pled not guilty to felony drug charges in September. The 52-year-old Shorewood man was charged back in early June with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after a February incident in which police responded to a report of a heroin overdose at Feerick’s Shorewood home at 4322 N. Wildwood Ave.

The survey conducted by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Urban Initiative and Research on behalf of the village revealed that 78 percent of Shorewood property owners who responded approve of the village's large-scale sewer improvement plan.
