Shorewood Snapshot: Vote on School Budget; Absentee Voting Begins

School Board — School officials are expected to vote on a preliminary 2013-14 budget during a special board meeting Tuesday night at 7 in the Shorewood High School Library, 1701 E. Capitol Dr. Find the agenda here

Absentee voting — In-person absentee voting begins in the Shorewood Village Clerk's office, 3930 N. Murray Ave., on Monday. It wraps on Friday, March 29 at 5 p.m.

Village Board — Village officials are expected to vote on a contract for this year's sewer lining program, among other agenda items during a regular board meeting Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 3930 N. Murray Ave. Find the full agenda here

SHS spring concert — The annual concert is set for Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Shorewood High School Auditorium, 1701 E. Capitol Dr.

Featuring the high school concert band and wind ensemble, the program will include music from the Broadway musicals "Phantom of the Opera" and "West Side Story" in addition to pieces from the standard band repertoire by such composers as Charles Carter, Jared Spears, John Zdechlik, and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Admission to the concert is free.

Kiwanis pancake breakfast — The North Shore Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast with the bunny is this Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the St. Monica Parish Hall, 5635 N. Santa Monica Ave., in Whitefish Bay. Guests may enter at door No. 1 from the parking lot on Lakeview Avenue.

In addition to the bunny, there will be face painting, and a breakfast including pancakes, sausage, juice, milk and coffee. Tickets are available at the door or in advance from members, $6 per adult and $4 per child. All proceeds will benefit Kiwanis youth charities.
