Shorewood Receives Award for North Shore Intergovernmental Cooperation

Along with six other North Shore communities, the village was acknowledged for its continued cooperation with other neighboring municipalities in sharing services.

Along with six other North Shore communities and the fire department, Shorewood received the Intergovernmental Cooperation Award from the Public Policy Forum for its North Shore Consolidated Dispatch Services Agreement.

The Forum presented Shorewood with the award at its Annual Salute to Local Government in late June for its innovation and ingenuity in intergovernmental cooperation, which demonstrated the meaning of good government.

The villages of Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, River Hills, Whitefish Bay, city of Glendale and North Shore Fire Department were also presented with awards.

Shorewood has consolidated many services with other neighboring municipalities.

There's the North Shore Fire Department, the North Shore Library and with the North Shore Health Department, which serves Glendale, Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point and River Hills.
