Shorewood Citgo Station is Back in Business
After having had its pumps shutdown for more than a week, station gets the OK to start selling gas again.
The Citgo station that has been prohibited from selling gas ever since it was identified as the is back in business.
The gas pumps were allowed to start operating this morning, after officials from the North Shore Fire Department and the state Department of Safety and Professional Services inspected the location.
Safia Rizvi, the wife of station owner Syed Rizvi, said officials told them they could start selling gas this morning.

North Shore Fire Department Chief Robert Whitaker confirmed there was an inspection today at 8:30 a.m., but he had not yet heard the results as of 11 a.m.
On Thursday, Department of Natural Resources officials by Oct. 24 to create a plan to address fuel contaminating soil near his station by Nov. 14.

Safia said today the owners are planning to comply with this order.
"We don't want any trouble," Safia said. "They're the experts, so there's no argument."
Safia said the station, located at 1603 E. Capitol Dr., saw a few customers Friday morning, but that traffic was slower than usual.
"It will take awhile to get back to usual," Safia said.
